Our club was established in 1962 with a focus on Obedience Training and has since expanded to cater to the growing needs of local dog owners. We have consistently promoted responsible dog ownership in the community. In 1992, we were the first winners of the Dog World Canine Community Award, and in 2015 we were runners-up for the Best British Training Class of the Year, an award presented by PAWSCARS (the Oscars for Dogs). We meet every Tuesday year-round, offering six evening classes that begin with the Kennel Club Puppy Foundation Course. We are a Kennel Club Registered Club, and have been involved in the Kennel Club Good Citizen Awards at all levels since it began in 1992. We encourage all members to participate, training and testing for Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards. There are eight trainers who give their time freely and have a wealth of knowledge and experience. Our training is based on positive, reward-based methods and our instructors keep up-to-date with seminars, training days and courses. We encourage all to channel their dogs' natural abilities by taking part in breed specific activities, we organise Fun Nights, Treasure Hunts, Social Dog Walks, and end the year with the much loved Dog's Christmas Party. We believe that a well trained dog is a pleasure to be around both at home and out and about.
